We’ve been saying it for years over here, but Aaron Draplin is a bad ass guy. He was in town over the weekend helping judge the Richmond Show. One of the few thousand pieces of knowledge that he dropped on me while he was here was about Gocco machines. I hadn’t ever heard of them before, but it’s basically a mini self-contained printing system that was popular in Japan in the late 70’s up to the 90’s. It works pretty much like screen printing. While most people might print a 1 or 2 color piece with these things, the DDC’s gotta go all the way and print 4 color process on the thing. Check out the one below that was from a Gocco show in Portland.
