Years back we designed these Enemies of Advertising dart boards based on Tom McElligot's famous Enemies of Advertising speech. Cabell thought we were lacking ample distractions in the office and decided we should have a weekly dart competition using the posters. We will be throwing sharp objects through the office at high speeds for the next 12 weeks. Let the games begin. Each week will feature one of our 12 Enemies of Advertising and the week's dart competition winner. In addition, all of the Enemies of Advertising Dart Boards will be available for FREE download, or as full size prints from our web store.
We kick things off with Enemy No. 1: Ourselves - Not everyone is good at everything. If you consistently produce mediocre work, find out why. Is it a lack of motivation? Is it where you work? Is it who you're working with? Or is it you? Usually the person who is to blame for producing bad work is the same person who brushes your teeth each morning. Sometimes you have to take a good hard look at yourself and ask, "Am I in the right industry?" If the answer is no, move on. If the answer is yes, get rid of that guy that brushes your teeth.
With 250 points including a 100 point bullseye, this weeks winner is Drew. Good thing he doesn't work here, or we'd have to fire him.
