Apparently the government is completely fine with trying to get it’s own messages out by just ripping off current advertising campaigns. Maryland did it, and I posted that about a month ago. Now the FTC is doing it.
I can’t imagine The Martin Agency is happy about this. I will admit, though, that I’ve had a couple of friends do the FreeCreditReport.com thing and not realize you have to actually pay for it. But in defense of the ads, it clearly states, on every ad, that you have to enroll in the triple advantage something or other to get the free report.
