One of my portfolio teachers in college once said to us that one of the places that you’ll get your best concepting work is in a dark, smoke-filled, dingy bar. As much as I completely agree with him, things in Virginia might finally be changing. Tim Kaine and and William Howell are backing a bipartisan bill to finally ban smoking in bars and restaurants. If it passes on Monday, it will go in to effect on July 1. I think people should be able to choose whether or not that want to smoke, but at bars in Richmond, you have don’t have a choice to not smoke because of how many people that are constantly chain smoking.
So let’s all hold our breath and hope that this passes. (I can’t post a blog entry with no pictures and not make a horrible pun.)
