Last week WORK was fortunate enough to team up with Devin Bousquet of Bousquet Pictures to film a “casting call” for a spokesman for our client Turtleson, a men’s apparel company to post on social media platforms. The idea was to not just “audition” turtles but bring in all kinds of animals as potential representatives.
So we headed to social media ourselves, seeking brave volunteers willing to bring their pets to our WORK & FRIENDS event space for the shoot. We had some amazing volunteers bringing in everything from chickens, to snakes, to baby goats, and even a beautiful tortoise about the size of a 30 LB cat (which we also had). We even had a human pet, I mean child, donned in a wonderful little frog raincoat, who was willing to play up in front of the camera. We were hoping for a frog so that worked out perfectly!
Shockingly (and fortunately), despite the occasional bathroom accident, the entire shoot went unbelievably smooth. I won’t lie, I’m fairly certain every single one of us went straight to bed when we got home (all shoots are exhausting) but we truly enjoyed the day with our actors and their parents. I swear, most of the poor babies assumed they were at the vet, and yet, despite what the parents may have thought, the resulting hesitation in front of the camera, scampering around, and in one case, literally eating the backdrop, gave us the fun and humor we were hoping for with the future social media posts.
A huge thank you to all of the volunteers and their wonderful animal friends for such a wonderful day! You’ll be able to see the delightful results soon at https://www.facebook.com/turtleson/ and https://www.instagram.com/turtlesonapparel/.
