WORK Labs has partnered with local homebrew beer enthusiasts to create The Fermentation Society. Over Labor Day weekend, The Fermentation Society held a private homebrew exhibition event where 4 select homebrewers shared the fruits of their beer-crafting labor. This event also served to test a web-based system that helps homebrewers collect feedback about their beers.
We got into the beer business almost 15 years ago when the WORK Beer brand became a best-seller in the Mid- Atlantic region. That label stopped production in 2003, and we have been thirsty for another beer partnership ever since. Richmond’s fast-growing and impressively sophisticated homebrew culture provided the perfect opportunity: WORK could offer its branding and web experience to amplify the considerable talents of our local homebrewers, and create a community of appreciation around these artisans.
We hope to eventually expand the Fermentation Society - including holding public homebrew events and introducing it in other cities.
Thanks to the homebrewers who showcased their delicious beers at the inaugural Fermentation Society homebrew exhibition on 9/1: Ken Rayher, Pete Konrad, Sean O’Hern, and Dave Jackson!
